CTIA’s TZM Alloy Block

1. What's TZM Alloy Block?
TZM Alloy Block (Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy Block) is high-performance molybdenum-based alloy block with TiC and ZrC dispersion-strengthened phases. It uses molybdenum (Mo) as the matrix and incorporates titanium (Ti: 0.40%–0.55%), zirconium (Zr: 0.06%–0.12%), and carbon (C: 0.01%–0.04%) to form carbide strengthening phases. Through powder metallurgy process involving high-pressure compaction and vacuum sintering, followed by hot working, the strengthening phases are uniformly distributed within the molybdenum matrix, effectively improving high-temperature strength, creep resistance, structural stability, and long-term service reliability. CTIA’s TZM alloy block features high density, large cross-sectional load capacity, and excellent machining stability, making it suitable for high-temperature dies, vacuum thermal field equipment, and complex structural components.
2. Features of CTIA’s TZM Alloy Block
(1) High-temperature strength: Melting point of approximately 2620°C, with room-temperature tensile strength of 600–900MPa and reliable load-bearing capability above 1000°C.
(2) Creep resistance: TiC and ZrC dispersion-strengthened phases effectively inhibit dislocation movement and grain boundary sliding, improving long-term high-temperature stability.
(3) Structural stability: Recrystallization temperature of approximately 1350–1450°C, with suppressed grain growth and good dimensional stability at elevated temperatures.
(4) Thermal stability: Density of approximately 10.15–10.22g/cm³ and coefficient of thermal expansion of approximately 5.5–5.9×10⁻⁶/K, providing excellent thermal shock resistance.
(5) Machinability: Uniform microstructure and high density support turning, milling, grinding, drilling, and other precision machining processes for complex structural components.
3. Applications of CTIA’s TZM Alloy Block
CTIA’s TZM alloy block is used for high-temperature component manufacturing, including: (1) high-temperature forging and hot forming dies; (2) vacuum high-temperature furnaces and heat treatment equipment; (3) thermal field components for semiconductor and crystal growth equipment; (4) high-temperature load-bearing structural components; (5) heat-resistant components for glass melting equipment; (6) aerospace and other high-temperature industrial applications.
