CTIA’s TZM Alloy in Sapphire Crystal Growth Furnace

TZM alloy (Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum) used in sapphire crystal growth furnaces is manufactured through powder metallurgy processes. By precisely controlling Ti (0.40–0.55%), Zr (0.06–0.12%), and C (0.01–0.04%) contents, TiC and ZrC dispersion-strengthened phases are formed, providing excellent high-temperature strength, creep resistance, dimensional stability, and vacuum compatibility. Sapphire crystal growth requires long-term operation at 1800–2200℃ under vacuum or inert atmosphere conditions, where furnace components are continuously exposed to thermal radiation, temperature cycling, and mechanical loads. CTIA’s TZM alloy is suitable for crucible supports, thermal field structural components, heat shield supports, and other high-temperature components, and is widely used in sapphire crystal manufacturing applications for LED substrates, optical crystals, and electronic materials.
