CTIA’s TZM Alloy Tray

1. What's TZM Alloy Tray?
TZM Alloy Tray (Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy Tray) is molybdenum-based alloy support component designed for high-temperature applications, mainly used for supporting, holding, and positioning workpieces inside high-temperature equipment. CTIA’s TZM alloy tray uses molybdenum as the matrix and incorporates titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr), and carbon (C) elements to form TiC and ZrC dispersion-strengthened phases. The tray is manufactured through powder metallurgy, followed by precision machining processes, providing excellent high-temperature structural stability and reliable performance.
2. Advantages of CTIA’s TZM Alloy Tray
(1) Excellent high-temperature strength: With a melting point of approximately 2620°C, it maintains high strength and rigidity under elevated temperatures, withstands long-term thermal loads, and reduces the risk of softening.
(2) Superior creep resistance: TiC and ZrC strengthening phases stabilize the molybdenum-based microstructure, effectively suppress grain growth and high-temperature creep deformation, improving long-term reliability.
(3) Excellent deformation resistance: Provides good dimensional stability under continuous heating and thermal cycling conditions, reducing the risk of warping and deformation.
(4) Good thermal fatigue resistance: With a coefficient of thermal expansion of approximately 5.5×10⁻⁶/K, it reduces thermal stress during repeated heating and cooling cycles and improves thermal fatigue resistance.
(5) Balanced load-bearing and machining performance: With a density of approximately 10.2g/cm³, it provides good mechanical strength and machinability, allowing precision machining of holes, slots, and complex structures to meet different equipment requirements.
3. Applications of CTIA’s TZM Alloy Tray
CTIA’s TZM alloy tray is used in:
(1) Vacuum high-temperature furnaces for supporting, holding, and positioning workpieces under elevated temperatures;
(2) Powder metallurgy sintering equipment for material support during high-temperature sintering processes;
(3) Crystal growth equipment as high-temperature support components;
(4) Heat treatment equipment for high-temperature workpiece handling and thermal processing support;
(5) Other high-temperature industrial equipment requiring customized heat-resistant support structures.
