1. What's TZM Alloy Die?
TZM Alloy Die (Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy Die) is a high-temperature forming tool manufactured through powder metallurgy, mainly used in metal hot working, extrusion, forging, and high-temperature forming processes where high temperature, high pressure, and mechanical loads are involved. TZM uses molybdenum (Mo) as the matrix with titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr), and carbon (C) additions to form TiC and ZrC dispersion-strengthened phases, significantly improving high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and microstructural stability.
2. Advantages of CTIA’s TZM Alloy Die
(1) Excellent High-Temperature Strength and Creep Resistance
TiC and ZrC strengthening phases improve high-temperature load-bearing capability. With a tensile strength of 600–900MPa, the die maintains excellent deformation resistance under high-temperature pressure and long-term loading, extending service life.
(2) Excellent High-Temperature Dimensional Stability
With a recrystallization temperature of approximately 1350–1450°C, the die effectively suppresses grain growth and microstructural changes at elevated temperatures, maintaining dimensional accuracy and forming stability during continuous hot working.
(3) Excellent Thermal Fatigue Resistance
With a coefficient of thermal expansion of approximately 5.5–5.9×10⁻⁶/K, the die provides excellent thermal cycling stability, reducing thermal stress caused by repeated heating and cooling cycles and lowering the risk of cracking and failure.
(4) Good Wear Resistance
The die maintains high hardness and structural stability at elevated temperatures, enabling it to withstand metal flow, friction, and impact loads during long-term continuous processing.
(5) High-Precision Machining and Customization Capability

3. Applications of CTIA’s TZM Alloy Die

(1) Metal extrusion dies: Used for hot extrusion forming of copper alloys, nickel-based alloys, stainless steels, and other high-temperature materials, withstanding high-temperature friction and extrusion pressure.
(2) Hot forging dies: Used for high-temperature metal forging processes, maintaining structural stability under thermal impact and cyclic loading conditions.
(3) Hot forming dies: Used for hot pressing and forming of refractory metals, high-temperature alloys, and precision components, meeting high-temperature dimensional control requirements.
(4) Glass forming dies: Used in glass forming equipment, utilizing high-temperature strength and low thermal expansion characteristics to improve forming accuracy.
(5) Die components for vacuum and high-temperature equipment: Used for supporting, forming, and positioning structures in vacuum furnaces, heat treatment equipment, and other high-temperature processing systems.
(6) Precision forming die components: Used for nozzles, mold cores, and positioning components in Metal Injection Molding (MIM) and other high-temperature forming equipment, utilizing TZM’s high-temperature strength, deformation resistance, and dimensional stability to improve forming accuracy and service life.
